There are other 2 lines which you might have to use during your stay, depending where you have to go. I recommend you get your PASMO or SUICA card at any station (they are equivalent) for using it when your JRP is not valid... I hope I've answered your question. And those rumors are false, I never any problem to use the metro, ot's simple, clear and efficace. And very clean, you can even find aquriums in the stations.
